Elevate to Become a Miracle Worker

November 13-15 2009 was a monumental weekend for me and CCC. Friday and Saturday was our Leadership Shapers Elevate Dallas event at The State Fair Music Hall at the State Fair of Texas.  I never dreamed as a child growing up in Dallas, going to the State Fair, seeing musicals like Phantom of the Opera, The Sound of Music, and others, that one day, I would host a landmark leadership event in the same building.
Old friends like Steven Scott and Paul Hannan joined me as well as new friends Ken Dunn and Jeffrey Combs. The highlight of the event for me was Mayor Tom Leppert of Dallas and my mentor from a distance for 25 years, John Maxwell.  I was so honored that Mayor Leppert opened our conference and that we were able to partner with him with a social justice initiative. Our participants all participated in loading hundreds of duffle bags with food for the 30,000 children in Dallas that go hungry every weekend. These are children from broken, dysfunctional families who only eat during the week, because they go to school and on the weekend go hungry.

On a personal note, it was a dream of mine, to have John Maxwell as one of our keynote speakers. I read John’s first book, in 1984, Think on These Things and for the last 25 years his books and teachings on leadership have profoundly impacted my life.

John stayed over and preached for me on Saturday and Sunday as a part of my Possible Series.  It was an incredible message on How a Biblical Miracle Works and how God used a little boy with five loaves and two fish. John said and I quote:

“When there is a need sensed by a few, and each individual understands his responsibility and gives his all, regardless of the odds, then Jesus works a miracle.”

Wow!!!  The bottom line is this…

“The person that didn’t need the miracle from God, was the only person that God could use to provide the miracle.”

Without God I cannot…without me, God will not!!!

It was a very powerful day and a life changing weekend.

Working miracles in Jesus name,
Keith
